Education: was in HELP and TAYLORS once. Nothing much actually.
1) Where were you born & raised?
I've been in Kuala Lumpur all my life. Born and raised here.
2) How old were you when you first started playing?
Started when i was mid-18. Probably the time when i was studying in Taylors college.
3) What was your first major tournament ever played?
My first major tournament. The tournament that was held in Klang? After
Five? organised by Raymond Kan. Was still a rookie back then.
4) What was your first Major title ever won?
Hmm, major? im not too sure..well there is this time when Ryan Felix
called me to join the Senior National League. We got 3rd placing. Other
than that. I won the US Selections to the states accompanied by Adil
Sayeed, Alex Ooi and Jimmy.
5) What is your favourite 5-bar passing method?
I used to do those funky passes like fakes, stick, brushes and all. I
would say i cant stick to a primary pass. Till, Billy Pappas showed me
his latest 5-bar passing method. lol. A stationary stick pass. Im
pretty sure when he played against me i couldnt even block one. out of
10. =)
6) Who inspire you of such passing? Did you learn from someone or you perfected it yourself?
Billie Pappas and Alex Oii! They showed me. I did the magic. LOL
7) What are your primary & secondary shot as a forward?
Well i think foosball is a very boring game if u want to win. Same pass
same shot. I fell asleep watching Terri Moore's game. =) I come up with
alot of funky shots. Pullshot, Pushshot and Snake. Trying frontpin now.
lol
8) Who is your biggest influence in your game?
Edwin Ng and Raymond Kan.without them i dont think ill be even replying this interview. lol
9) Will you try to retain your title next year?
I think you need alot of luck in foosball. Ill surely try my best to
win. But to me, there s more in foosball than winning. To HAVE FUN!
10) Where do you see yourself in foosball in the next 5 to 10 years?
Im probably married by then. LOL Errm. Well im pretty sure for the
next 5-10 years ill be a fulltime pilot and i wont have the time.
Still, foosball means drug. You cant quit. So give it up guys.
11) What's your advise to all the future champions to be?
Be "HUMBLE." These are the players that thought me at least something.
Edwin, Raymond Kan, Pietro, Ryan, Alex, Adil, Siva, Bobby, Shaun Png,
KL Shaun, Shaul, and many more. These guys got me where i am today.
Learn and ask around. U can lose the game but dont ever ever lose the
fighting spirit even when ure down 4-0. Most important, dont be shy.
Ask around with a polite manner. Would you want to teach someone who s cocky? enough said..

ago. He's currently pursuing his studies in Mechanical Engineering at
Taylor's American Degree Program (ADP). Besides playing foosball, Edgar
loves to play basketball as well. When told he was the lucky winner,
Edgar said "I was thinking of signing up the next day but luckily I
didn't. I'm glad I sign up."
FCM presents Oliver's interview with the 1st Hitz.FM RADIO ICON, Pietro Felix. Besides being an icon, Pietro is a good friend and a great fooser too. *psst* We heard he is single too, so girls.. what are you waiting for!!.. isnt he cute!!..
1) Where were you born & raised?
I was born in Klang but was raised in Penang. But I have been workin and living in KL for the last 10 years.
2) How old were you when you first started playing?
I started to play foosball when I was 20 in this club called Zulu's in Penang.
3) What was your first major tournament ever played?
I think it was the 1999 Nationals. I played doubles and singles. Those
days there were no such thing as rookie and pro am. So, as a beginner I
had to play with the pros. I faired pretty well I must say.
4) What was your first Major title ever won?
Well I never did win any major title but I think the one I am
proudest of was for my first nationals, I got 7th place in the Open
Doubles category. Megat was my partner back then. I faired better on
the same tournament in the team event where I got champion and my
very first Team Champion jacket!
5) What is your primary position?
I am a striker(offense). My defense sucks!
6) Which do you like better?
I love being striker(offense) cos' I feel that I am in control of the game as a striker.
7) What are your primary & secondary shot as a forward? As a goalie?
Forward - Snake(roll over).. Secondary also Snake(roll over). As a
goalie I have no primary shot. I just clear the ball and hope for the
best.
8) How about your passing series. What is your primary? Do you have more than one?
I stick to the brush pass. My seniors and the sifu's always tell me to
keep it simple. So I have been using the same passing series for the last 5
years and I am very happy with it. Slow and steady.
9) What would you like to advice the future champions?
Always stay humble. Love the game, love the sport, love the competition.
Remember it's only a game. Stick to the basics and always be patient.
10) Where do you see foosball heading to in 5 or 10 years time?
I am hoping that it will become a national sports event. Then more and
more people will play in it. At least a couple of thousand
players all over Malaysia.
And I hope that our Malaysian foosball players will start making their
mark in the International foosball scene.
You can check him out on weekdays from 1pm-5pm during the Ad Free 60

FCM presents Galvin's interview with the 2005 Nationals Ladies Single champion, Stephanie Mak. Besides a great foosball player, Stephanie is a good friend and always helpful. Here's her interview:
1) Where were you born & raised?
was born and raised in KL.
2) How old were you when you first started playing?
When I first started playing I was about 18 or 19 but only started playing seriously recently.
3) What was your first major tournament ever played?
The
first competition that I ever played was DYP. The first major
tournament I played was in a college open foosball tournament last year.
4) What was your first Major title ever won?
The 9th Nationals Ladies Singles *smiles*
5) What is your primary position?
I'm not a good back player so I'll say striker position.
6) Which do you like better?
Position
wise? Well it depends...if I'm playing singles then it's definitely
striker position. But if I'm playing doubles then I usually play back
because I find it too pressuring to play front.
7) Primary & secondary shot as a forward? As a goalie?
As
a striker...my primary shot is a pull shot, secondary shot will either
be tic-tac or push kick. As a goalie...primary shot will also be a pull
shot but secondary shot varies...no fixed secondary shot...it could be
anything from pull kick to a very retarded seven shot...just so long as
I can clear it *smiles*
8) How about passing series. What is your primary? Do you have more than one?
My
primary passes are brush passes...very consistent with my brush down
compared to my brush up. If both don’t work then I get really stressed
out and will do straight passes =)
