 Is there a problem with tornado blocking push? 16 Oct 2006 14:33  # 1
I've been foosing for quite sometime and I don't
really see much people fancy push. Isn't there a
big 1st hole when you try to reverse block the push
and a big dink hole(in between the man) when you
block it regularly? I don't think you'd have the
same problems blocking pull shot though.

Seems to me that although this shot is not that
popular, but there is alot to be exploited that
makes it deadlier than its alter-ego, pull shot.

It's easier to see the holes if someone reverse block a push shot because of the position you're at. It's a totally different scenario for a pull shooter. When someone reverse block a pullshot the holes are not clearly visible to them.

Trust me... it's two one inch man blocking a 6 inch goal, there's always plenty of other holes open up. Most ppl like pull but there's a number of push shooters around and I'm one of them. Push or pull, its just a matter of preference.

Lets not be hostile.. push shot definitely NOT the preferred shot comparing to the pull or roll overs.. I believe as time goes.. preference will be given to a multiple choice of shot..

As for me.. having a FUN shot is more important...

foosball is all about having fun guys..

any shot is just as effective if you use it wisely in my opinion. its all the same. why some people find it tougher to block a push is probably there isn't much chance for you to practise against one. therefore you're not used to it. why more beginners does a push shot and then switch to something else later on? probably cause its easier to learn BUT difficult to master. NOT because its not a good shot.

also i don't think it is less visible for a pullshooter when u reverse them. for any consistent and good shooter i believe they're the happiest when u reverse them. basically you don't even have to look anywhere else when someone reverses you. isn't that great?

good explanation. :)

Just want to add that pushshot require you more energy than pullshot if you do recoil.

You took the words right out of my mouth. If we just put some brains into it people. The power of any shot comes from the recoil. And the reason why the pull shot more popular is very simply because the recoil motion of the pull shot is a push motion meaing the weight of the players body is behind the shot. While the alternative of the push shot, requires pure muscle pulling motion to acheive the power in the recoil. So, very simply think would you rather pull and tons of brick or push a tons of bricks? lol....
